Only ONE Week Left to Enter the HP "What Do You Have to Say?" Theme Design Contest!
A few weeks ago, we let you know about the HP "What Do You Have to Say?" Theme Design Contest. If you've been meaning to enter, but haven't gotten around to it yet - now is the time! There's only a week left to submit a theme that showcases your personal style and creativity.
The winning theme will be made available to millions of bloggers on Vox, TypePad and LiveJournal. And you may win $1000 gift certificate from Hewlett Packard!
What are you waiting for? Visit the contest homepage to learn how to submit your theme, as well as VOTE on your favorites. Remember, this is a contest, so once you've submitted a theme, be sure to tell your friends and family to vote for it.
Speaking of Themes...
We have two more custom themes from Gwen Stefani and HP. These themes are available for a limited time only, so hurry up and select one for your blog. Or, pick from our other new themes: Inked and Spiral & Turns.
Pick your new theme in the design area.
Everyone at Six Apart has been working incredibly hard as of late... But there's no point in working hard, if you don't make time to play even harder. On Easter Sunday, a few 6Aers ventured out to the 8th Annual BYOBW Race. That's "Bring Your Own Big Wheel" for those of you who may not be familiar with it.
Vote for Vox!
Finally, if you haven't already... This is your last chance to vote for Vox in the 2008 Webware 100 Awards. Vox is nominated in the "Publishing and Photography" category and we really hope you'll take the time to VOTE and let everyone know how much you love blogging on Vox. Voting is open until March 31, 2008, so please hurry and cast your vote... Time's running out!
Until we meet again...

At Six Apart (the makers of Vox), we'll use any excuse we can to mix business and pleasure. It's not that hard since we love what we do, but we were thinking since the BlogHer Business '08 Conference is just around the corner, that's the perfect excuse to hang out with any fellow Voxers who might be in attendance. We'd love to take the opportunity to get to know you, buy you a cup of coffee, and talk about what really matters to us: YOU and your blog.
Are you planning on attending the BlogHer Business '08 Conference? If so, please let us know in the comments, so we can get an idea of how many of you will be there. We'll follow-up with another post before the conference letting you know where we're going to be and when.
Hope to see you in NYC!
Design It With Style: Enter the HP "What Do You Have to Say?" Theme Design Contest
One of the first things we notice when we're checking out your Vox blogs is which theme you've chosen to represent yourself and your blog. Whether it's "Basketball Night," "Shopping," "Country Day," or a custom banner you've designed yourself, the banner at the top of your blog really does provide a first impression of the content we might find there, as well as a hint about your personality and style. We've also found that a great looking theme can inspire creativity and motivate us to post to our own blogs.
Which is why we're so excited to announce the HP "What Do You Have to Say?" Theme Design Contest.
All you have to do to enter is design a theme that showcases your personal style and creativity. The winning theme will be made available to millions of bloggers on Vox, TypePad and LiveJournal. Plus, if your theme is chosen as the winner, you'll win some really cool prizes from HP:
First Place: $1000 gift certificate from Hewlett Packard
Second Place: $500 gift certificate from Hewlett Packard
Third Place: $300 gift certificate from Hewlett Packard
Visit the contest homepage to learn all about how to submit your theme, as well as vote on your favorite themes. The contest just started today, so there aren't many themes to vote on just yet, but you'll want to check back often to read the contest blog and see what kind of designs other Voxers and bloggers around the world are submitting.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Need Some Inspiration?
We released a bunch of new and featured themes on Vox today, including three custom designs from Gwen Stefani and HP (with more on the way)! There are also some egg-cellent Easter and bunny themes, a baseball theme that will knock your Vox blog out of the park, a couple of Hanafuda playing card themes for March and April, and though we hope you won't have to use it too often, a writer's block theme for those days when you just don't have much to say. (By the way, if this ever does happen to you, try checking out the Question of the Day and the Vox Hunt for inspiration!)
What are you waiting for? Start thinking about what you have to say and get started on your contest theme design!
Oh! And from all of us at Team Vox...
Earlier this year we made several changes to Vox, including simplifying the navigation, adding "Explore" areas to help you discover new people and content, as well as some modifications to the logged-in homepage.
After that release, we heard from some of you through Vox feedback and comments on blogs that you weren't too happy with the changes we made to the homepage. There were a few recurring themes in the feedback you gave: You missed having a quick and easy at-a-glance view of all the latest activity in your neighborhood, and you really felt like the Question of the Day and Vox Hunt should live together. And you know what? We agree.
So today, we've updated the logged-in homepage so that it's much easier for you to scan recent comment activity, posts and other updates from your neighbors without having to click. We've also joined the Question of the Day and Vox Hunt at the hip so you only have to look in one place to find inspiration.
We hope you'll find the homepage redesign faster and easier to use. But please: Let us know what you think so we can continue to make sure you're getting the most out of your Vox experience.
And again: Thanks for all the feedback. Keep it coming!
How many great photos have you taken that were never seen by anyone but you?
We're guessing quite a few. Whether you just don't have the time to upload your photos to your computer and then post them to your blog, or are dissatisfied with the quality of your camera phone, there's never been a way to quickly and easily send great photographs straight to your blog.
Until now.
Using the Eye-Fi Wireless Memory Card, now any digital camera can send photos directly to your Vox blog.
You don't need a computer or a camera phone - just an Eye-Fi card and a Wi-Fi network. That's right: You can wirelessly post photos from home, work, the airport, a coffee shop... anywhere the Eye-Fi card can connect to a previously configured Wi-Fi network. Photos can even be transferred right as you're taking them! So, whatever you capture with your camera - whether it's a husband and wife's first kiss or an epic jump in the snowboard park - with the Eye-Fi card, you'll always be the first to share your photos and memories with your Vox neighborhood.
How Does It Work?
The Eye-Fi Card is a wireless card with 2 GB of memory and the built-in technology to send photos directly to both your computer and your Vox blog. The 2 GB of memory means you can store thousands of photos, while the built-in technology means you'll never forget to post another photo again. Plus, the Eye-Fi card also works with other photo sharing and printing sites like Flickr and Photobucket. Since Vox has conduits with both of those services, you'll never have to upload twice, or waste valuable storage space.
Learn more about adding photos to Vox with Eye-Fi in the Vox Knowledge Base.
At Vox, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to blog whatever you want, whenever you want, from wherever you want. We really hope that by making the Eye-Fi Card available for Voxers, we're doing just that.
Later this week, the South by Southwest Interactive, Film and Music Festival kicks off in Austin, Texas, for ten days of conference and festival activities. We have two different ways for Voxers to get involved.
KICK! at SXSWi

- Where: Palm Park, behind the Austin Convention Center
- Who: Everyone's invited! It helps if you're a geek or a blogger

Six years ago, KICK! was started as a way to welcome the community of early bloggers that had just begun to adopt SXSWi as an informal annual homecoming. Join the tradition by coming out to play some ball or just drink some Progress coffee and eat some breakfast tacos.
If you plan on joining us, please RSVP on KICK!'s Upcoming page.
