Your Feedback: Email & Neighborhood Changes

glad things are changing in the neighbourhood options. thank you

"...so let us know when you love something"

I love that you listen, and take our concerns to heart. Thanks, Vox!
I love everything Vox does, evidenced by the (admittedly a fact known only to me) that I've never stuck with a blogging platform anywhere near this long.

But guys, you need a links list. You've got books, music, and all other snazzy stuff for the side columns, but no link list? I've got people linking to me on their BlogSpot link lists, et cetera, so how do I return the gesture? I can make a blog entry about them, but that eventually disappears into the archives.

Link lists should be a basic requirement, not a feature, and certainly not something that doesn't exist on the service at all.

YEEEAAAAHHHH!!! Good Vox Team... good, good, Vox [**pat-pat-pat**]. Go get yourself a snackie-treat!
I'm going to like the option to list by neighbors by type! Thank you.
Done and done. I'm eating Mena's Chee-tos as I type this.

And now my keyboard needs cleaning.

Thanks so much!!!
seconding what van said. Would be cool if a fixed number of links could be made into an asset that we can organize,

Thank you!
Thank you so much for listening to us and remedying things so quickly. Amazing, especially for a free service that kicks the butt of so many others’!

Vox rocks! It's quickly become one of the first places I visit every day, and not just for my own Vox blog. I've found some terrific stuff (and terrific people!) here, so many kudos to you who make it possible!
I like the change back to the email set up, and I'm glad that you guys are so hands-on with us. Vox is really cool, in no small part to you!!!
[this is good]
Thank you, Vox! You've brightened the lives of many. Much appreciation to the team for all of your diligence and caring in making this such an outstanding success!!
Thirding what van said about the Links list. I could use a few more spaces in my profile to add links to my other blogs (plural) rather than just one single link there, too.

Keep up the good work.
You know what I miss? The page that shows who else updated right when you did. I found several Vox friends from that page.

yay for surfing my neiborhood
Im for the links..a module to add to the front page to list your favorite links to share...ohhhh and a guestbook would be nice too
A big fat amen to what Van said. Links are crucial.
Great idea about links, just arrived but I am already liking this. Viva Vox!

The page that shows who else updated right when you did. I found several Vox friends from that page.

That used to be on the posting confirmation page. It was a fun way to discover new posts and people without having to Explore for them. Now that you mention it being gone, I have to say that I miss it too...

Same here, it's what sold me on vox originally. Hitting refresh brought in fresh posts from all over the world. And it facilitates commenting in almost real time on posts which otherwise might not be seen, allowing discussion with interested soon-to-be friends. I wasn't invited to vox nor invited anybody to join m, but because of that feature I've met some of the best online friends I've ever had.
I am wondering how the ad content works. I posted a comment about Mitt Romney and got 2 ads at the bottom of the post. One was for Mitt Romney and the other was a Christian web site. How do these ads work? Maybe I need to use code words? Just wondering.
Website it wonderfully easy to use.

I'm with the links page, and the fixes to the neighborhod pages too..thanks for listening...this is why Six Apart rocks!!!

Totally agreed, and it's not something that hasn't been suggested before. I don't know if they're working on it or not, or plan to.

As Chaz says, it seems like this would be easiest to implement as a feature under "organize." I mean, if we can draw in a YouTube video and have a photo link to it reside in our sidebar, we should be able to have a limited number of text links displaying.

The lack of ability to have a link bar keeps me from using Vox as much as I use LJ, because I can launch things - sites I visit regularly - from my sidebar in LJ.

I suppose the argument against this could be "You could just use an RSS reader, maybe through Google or Yahoo," and that's true, but I want to be able to have people come to my Vox blog, and to have a permanent list of blogs that I like.

I also agree with this - missing the "these users just updated" bit. I did find people that way. The site used to be slightly more interactive vis a vis meeting new people than it is now. =/ maybe it's gotten too big for that to be practical.
I have an RSS reader, but I'm extremely careful about adding sites since I already have quite a few to keep up with. The "neighborhood" feature, where I can see who has updated within my neighborhood, is good -- but I also miss the page that shows who else updated right when you did on the post confirmation page. It nudged me in the direction of reading the Vox blogs of people I never would have discovered otherwise!
Yay! I missed this post until now but I really appreciate and look forward to the upcoming changes to the 'hood page. Thank you for listening.
Vox is wonderful - but I also miss a link modul. That would be great!!
Thank you
Throw me into the "please add links!" club. I've been a long-time Movable Type user, and have just recently transitioned from my regular homepage fully to Vox. It's awesome in most ways, but I must admit I was highly surprised to find I couldn't add a short list of text links into my sidebar.

i would like to see:

thank you.

On the topic of neighbors - is there a way to display more than the (default) five on my Vox home page? I've looked around in the settings, profile, design, etc,. and didn't see it.

Thanks for everything you're doing!
