Vox Tip: Sharing your posts by email
As we recently announced, we now have an option to share your public posts with people via email. Whenever you save a public post, you'll see an option to Share this Post. If you click that, you'll be able to choose any Vox member or enter any email address to notify people about your post. An email will be sent to those people which includes an excerpt of your post along with a link to it on your blog. You can read Share by Email for more information about this feature.
But what are some of the situations in which you might find the Share this Post feature helpful?
Our first example involves you and people who may be not be familiar with Vox or with blogging in general. Perhaps you've been trying to get your parents or grandparents interested in visiting your blog. They have and use email, but maybe they don't visit very many websites. You might decide to start emailing them any of your public posts that you think would interest them. Then visiting your blog is just a matter of them clicking a link in their email.
Our second example deals with you and someone who may already have a Vox blog but not a lot of time to read all the posts in his/her Neighborhood. You've written a post about your last vacation to Paris, and you think someone in your Vox Neighborhood would enjoy it because you know they're planning a Paris vacation of their own. Because they're busy with trip plans and other details, they haven't been watching Vox blogs very closely, so emailing the post to them will make sure they see the relevant post.
Those are three times we've personally found the Share this Post feature helpful, but we're sure you've thought of lots of other possibilities. Let us know how you're using that option in the comments!
