Vox Tip: Sending Invitations

Comments

I have invited a bunch of friends to VOX because of the exact same reasons that Mena Trott explained in her Ted presention. I can make public posts, private to friends posts, private private posts to those deemed family.

I can Vlog, Podcast, incorporate Flickr ... a bunch of powerful "amenities" if you will ...

I can keep up with all my crazy friends easily ...

the design and function is simple but very powerful, easily navigated as well.

All in all, I don't need to be a Big Dog blog to run with the pack. And right now, most of the pack is on VOX or are headed this way.

I sent one to my wife. She refused. :-/

[this is good]

I like the ideas on how to get more people we know to join vox... I just hope my dad will actually get on. I've invited a lot of people so far. I've got some people here... I am hoping to convert a lot of people from Xanga to come here. I was hoping you could check out their posting tools and try to implement a few of those features here, but I love your interface and usability much more.

Love it! I'm trying to get more family members to join. It'd be wonderful if we could all keep in touch this way instead of calling on the phone since I hate talking on the phone!

Here is a key that I have found:

--Contact the person before inviting--

Sell them on the privacy features and the fact that "you don't have to blog, but you need an account to see what I am posting."

Now, to Vox:
Are you planning on adding additional custom groups?

Take what you said in this post one step farther; make it where you have the ability to post just for you:
poker groupBridge club or Scrabble clubbook club
running group
School group
etc

I am currently maintaing my lj alongside my vox.

I have been offering invites to 'friends' on there and seeing who wants one. I so far have invited 8 people who have all taken up the offer.

Its all good.

I'd like to send out invitations but I do not want my email address nor my real name to be displayed in the invites. How can I disable that?
@qfemale , I hope that you will recieve an official reply, but a work around would be to set up a second account to a "dumby email" or an alternate email address. Then the person will see that conact info for that account.

It is probably not what Vox wants to have happen, but it can work for the short term.
I am glad to know that I am not limited to five little Vox invites...I was debating who I should share them with, so now that I know they will replenish themselves, I can start inviting tons of people. Thanks.

Hi,

Is there a way to cross-check your address book and import a .csv file to see who already are here on VOX? Further, to use the same contact catalog uploaded on VOX to more easily pick invites of the nonVOXers?

Peace,

Anders

(beta inviteee joining July with an idle account, but activating myself yesterday... =) oh yeah!)
