Vox Tip: Feeds
Today's tip comes from Team Vox member Steve:
"The QotD and now Vox Hunt are great ways to find new people on Vox. You can surf answers to these memes quite easily, but if you're super lazy like me, you can simply subscribe to these in the RSS reader of your choice. Simply drop these links in to your reader:
Vox Hunt - http://www.vox.com/explore/posts/tags/vox+hunt/atom.xml
Vox QotD - http://www.vox.com/explore/posts/tags/qotd/atom.xml
And you'll get a nice aggregate of responses pushed to your reader. By the way, you can do this with ANY tag in Vox. Simply hit the Explore link, pick a content type (you can subscribe to posts, videos, music, etc...), and type in a tag. At the bottom of the first page of hits, you'll see a little RSS subscription icon:
Right click on that to get the RSS URL to put in to your reader. I like to subscribe to stuff like photos tagged "dog" and music and video tagged "pixies".
From your reader, you can follow back to the original post and then check out the rest of the author's (public) content.
For an RSS aggregator, I recommend Feedreader. It's been very good to me, and is being actively developed."
Thanks Steve!
While we're at it, we wanted to share Steve's ode to Vox's new squids theme:
Giant squids... dun dun dun dun dun dun... Giant SQUIDS!! dun dun dun dun dun dun duhhhhh... The giant-est squids in all the blogosphere... mystery to mankind... gentle ocean BEEE-EEE--EEEASTS!
Do you have a Vox Tip? Post it in your blog and tag it "vox tip" -- we just might tap you on the shoulder and ask if we can reprint it here.
