Vox Tip: Be Part of the Vox Community by Making Suggestions

Comments

I've submitted to Vox Hunt, as well as Qotd, several times, and none of my ideas were ever used. I know others that have, as well. But yet, all I see are repetitions of previous used Vox Hunt's and Qotd's, therefore making me ponder whether our suggestions are even being considered. Or are there only a select variety of people (I guess maybe depending on status on Vox) who are considered? ... Often times, just from observation, I will notice that in the [this is good] area, the same people are often used or "suggested", or are noticeably either employed by Vox or are "friends" of those employed with Vox. If there is some type of favoritism going on, why make a suggestion? ...
I agree with what Leigh is saying. I used to post frequently on Vox, but have recently reverted to Livejournal. Also, why is it that the seemingly "random" Vox users who are featured under the "Who's on Vox" heading are those same Vox employees or friends of Vox employees? Why not give everyone a chance at front-page blog promotion?
I've suggested numerous times to the QotD and the Vox Hunt, and about 1 in 10 (or fewer) of my suggestions has ever been used. I would assume the others didn't make the cut for one of a number of reasons - they weren't PG enough for general consumption, Vox admin decided they wouldn't appeal to a wide enough audience, some variant had already been used, they didn't tie in well with the time of year/holidays, etc. I don't know for sure what the reasons are or whether yours fell under a similar decision, but I do know that they are being considered.

With the [this is good] area, I nominate entries from my neighbors only when I think they are the cream of the crop of all the posts I've read on Vox. Some people just seem to "have it" when it comes to writing good, introspective, thoughtful, or entertaining entries. These people get nominated more often by me. I'm sure it's the same way with many others you've seen as repeat features.
I'm sure it's not all sinister amongst Vox, but my suggestions were either turned into one that Vox made their own, and not at all... I've tried several times, so it wasn't a case of, "I tried, I gave up".

But talking to other Voxers, they've noticed it, too. So, this is not one person against many. It's simply a common observation, that should be remedied. If Vox is trying to be fair and create a sense of community, then give everyone a fair chance. My suggestions were not silly ones, though I've seen Vox come up with ones I don't even get why they were asked, but that's strictly my own opinion. But recycling old Vox Hunts and QotD's.... when people are suggesting, just seems unfair, and ludicrous. And sorry to say, but repetition seems to be more apparent, since I've joined Vox.

I agree with lucky. I like many of the folks that repeatedly get featured (it's as if there is a "loop" going 'round and 'round) but it's the same bunch of people!

It's annoying. I don't even care about the "not fair" part though maybe someone should.

Thanks!

No, no, no, no and no.

All these features that Vox is slamming on to us are ridiculous! I am starting to despise Vox more than I love it like I used to. The "share" button is excessive and stupid and now there are so many "community friendly" options that its becoming an overload. Not something worth while.

[this is good]
Give me alittle more time manuvering this site--then I will try and suggest something worthwhile

I know what you mean i keep going around in circles in here,

My suspicion is that there aren't very many people who nominate posts for TIG, and the Vox employees who choose have a style of posts they prefer. I don't know if they're intentionally trying to shape the image of the community toward something advertisers like, or if they're just choosing posts they can relate to. Either way we see a lot of the same folks/kinds of posts over and over. This post is trying to get more people to nominate posts so that might help with the issue of seeing the same people.
why not fill the void that audioblogger left? posting an audio clip via voicemail would be a killer feature!
WooHoo thanks VOX! I'm fairly new this, but I am very impressed by these features you have so far. KUDOS.

every day is a choice you make that will change you life

I'd like to submit questions of the day, but I always think that someone else have already asked those questions :/

Is it me or is this a totally terrible interface to do anything on this website? I just registered via a link on last.fm

1. Everything takes ages to load
2. When it does load there are things left, right and centre
3. It's impossible to track any major discussions or any other ones for that matter. It's taken me 20 minutes odd to find this one!
4. This should be a place where people plug their bands or music act, I can't see that happening anywhere.

Have I got this all wrong???
No..i think you have it right.....

it works fine on palm apps.

Could you please explain me - can the support team at least read the suggestions?

I'd like to have a code editor instead of WYSIWYG - and receive an answer how to use WYSIWYG editor.
I want my post crossposted to LJ have the same tags as here, not blank - and I receive an answer what are tags at all and how to set them using WYSIWYG editor.

I AM VERY HAPPY FOR A.SITE LIKE THIS, IT IS A GREAT SITE AND I LOVE TO BE PART OF THE VOX MEMBERS,
