Vox goes to the Dogs
With our post about the new features added in the last release, we briefly mentioned that our four-legged friends were getting some theme love. Tiffany did a great job making these themes look incredibly cute.
But what's really special about these themes is that they're patterned after several of our dear doggy friends who come to work at Six Apart with their owners.
Maddy belongs to Ben and Mena, Mocha is Barak's, Shelby belongs to Winnie, and Jay took Stella in after Ginevra moved across the country.
To say that Six Apart is a dog-friendly workplace is an understatement; many of us here are dog-obsessed. Two of the above dogs have their own blogs, and they're all friends who hang out together.
I think the coolest part of this collection of themes is how personal it is. Tiffany created likenesses of these doggies with great care and attention to detail, down to Mocha's curls and silver eyebrows and Maddy's smirk and crooked ear. And that's one of the best aspects of Vox -- it's personal.
We're definitely looking to adding more breeds to our themes -- and we're always looking for inspiration!

I think my min pin, Madeline, would be a good contender for a doggie layout of her own. She's small, and spunky, and she loves Vox.
I readily admit a bias, but I submit that of the four animals pictured above, only two are dogs; the other two are more accurately described as "pets". :-)

Well the dogs are adorable, but I'd like to see more drinks...we have cosmos, wine, and martinins but where the black label whiskey with a shot glass hmmm?...lol

I LOVE the new pet themes.. very cool! It's not really a pet, but I would love to see a dragonfly layout.. I have a minor (okay, okay a MAJOR) obsession with them. :)
i have a pet gecko. he's almost as cute as a dog. just a bit slimier. =)
My dog, Wolf, a Shiba inu, is wicked adorable and I think he would make a good theme!

These are great, but Chelsie was robbed. And if she's not the next dog theme I will destroy this whole internet with my anger.

Oh, a black lab theme please! Greta and Waldo will be thrilled. Jonah also wants to put his two paws in for Bassett Hounds everywhere.

Molly is my girl and you are welcome to make her into a theme. I'm about to puppy snatch Maddy. She's exactly what I've been looking for in a playmate for Molly!

Mmmmm my current favourite dogs are Doris and Molly. They tend to appear on incredibly painterly (sylvian? buccolic?) Suffolk country backdrops which would probably make nice backgrounds for something...

Anyhow: this inspired me to upload a pic to my profile/flickr, close as I could to my fine springer spaniel Chippie ... "Duarts' Mr. Chips" he was, yessir. (Won Canadian Kennel Champion in one show ... his second ... a country-bred dog / family pet.)

if I use anything with another dog's picture on it, but these themes are still cute!
We have a two month old Basset puppy. He may be a worthy successor to our late ol' Cocker. I just drew him, too! :D
