Vox, For The Win!

Just the other day, we got a great note from Shiny Media, the powerhouse UK blogging network, letting us know we were a finalist for one of their 2007 Shiny Awards. We couldn't have been more excited about getting recognized by such a smart group of editors and readers. On the other hand, we would've been much more excited if we could have gotten on a plane and made in to London in time for the awards ceremony. Sadly, no such luck. We were sitting at home, contemplating red-carpet arrivals and acceptance speeches and our small role in the the 2007 awards season, when the word came down.

We won!

Vox was awarded the "Best Web 2.0 Innovation" title, edging out Last.fm, a worthy co-finalist to be sure.

So, um, we'd like to thank, well, everyone. The folks at Shiny. The members of Vox. Everyone who's given their time and effort to make Vox a great place to blog. We promise to work hard to defend our title in 2007 with more smart innovations. Thanks again, Shiny!

You beat Last.fm? Now that is an accomplishment to be sure! ^__^ Congratulations! I stand by my idea however that you make an agreement with Last.fm and integrate their artist info/album cover features into our audio system! x3 Last.fm and Vox working together would be a dream. =3

YAY! Vox totally deserves this. This site is such an innovation in blogging, it offers user-friendly toolbars, a whole variety of themes to chose from and a completely incomparably friendly community to socialize with. Well done. I really appreciate the hard work you guys have put into this site.

Don't get me wrong, I love Vox, but I don't see how in the world this is more innovative than Last.fm. If someone told me to pick between Vox and Last.fm which one was more innovative, there wouldn't even be a contest. Last.fm and Audioscrobbler are nothing shy of incredible. Just my opinion here though...

And a BIG X2 to Regulus - Last.fm and Vox working together is something that most definitely needs to happen.
