Pirate things!

(And yes, I'm plugging myself; I don't care, I like it here in Vox.)
Something strange just happened while I tried to make a comment here. I was sent to this page instead of the usual page that says "You've just left a comment".

Yay! The new Recent Activity list is PERFECT! Thank you vox :-)

I really like the "interesting things" list - it's fun to check out what other people are looking at.
I was wondering...is there a way to add a site counter to blogs?
Hmmm, I am not sure I like the mechanism of nominating photos/posts for the [this is good] area. I won't be tagging my photos/posts as "tig" because I am not into self-promoting myself. I also don't want to open my photos/posts to allow others to tag them. Lastly, I am too lazy and don't see myself writing up an email to nominate a post/photo (nor do I know if others will as well).

If only clicking the [this is good] checkbox would perform an automatic nomination or some other type of button or link would do it.
I'm with raf on that. It's silly to have to tag our posts as tig, when there's a perfectly good this is good box. I know that if it's tagged tig, then staff (or the public, if they want) can explore by tag to find good stuff, which is fine i guess, but why not have the this is good thing create something explorable by the staff for this purpose?

unless that's in the works, and i'm jumping the gun. :)

Good work! Really love this Vox thing.
Raf and Mako Kid, the [this is good] checkbox is a way for other users to comment on your posts and assets. We suggested tagging your own stuff with "tig" as a way for you to specify your own nomination/permission.

There will be another way to suggest [this is good] content in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
Really. Missing. Recent comments.
And new uploads from friends (images, music, etc).
I have to say that I’m also really missing the Recent Comments and the old format... I mean, the new content has value too but the previous iteration was customised to me and my neighbourhood. Now, “my” VOX Home-page shows me more or less what VOX has chosen for me to see.

I feel that the current state of the Home-page is better suited for the Explore page... in fact, it would be perfect for the Explore page. People would immediately get an overview of highlighted posts and images, see what the recent favourites are and scroll through the most recently listed posts.

I know others will dissagree but I greatly preferred the set-up the way it was before the facelift.

Of course, the ultimate would to offer multiple modules that people could choose from to customise their Home-page to be how they wished... similar to LiveJournal’s “portal” page.

A suggestion.

It would be *awesome* if, after posting a new entry, every paragraph in that new entry (in the blog view, when signed in) had an instant Edit-Me icon/affordance, which worked in the way that Flickr photo title or description editing works, right away, without having to load a totally new page.

This way, rather than clicking edit to fix a single typo in your last post or adding one extra line or link, you could do so with immediate gratification. Mmm, immediate gratification...
@Iwu: Excellent suggestion. I would suggest using the Feedback link (on the top) to suggest that to Team Vox instead of posting a comment here, since it doesn't follow the thread of thought from the post.
@Beca and steelie: I agree with you guys. You should check out the "Bee" Release comment thread here where others have voiced opinions like yours.
@steelie: Awesome suggestion for the Explore front page. Definitely submit that as Feedback.

@TeamVox: Thanks for the response. I will be staying tuned for the other way to suggest [this is good] content.
Why can't we add descriptions to our photos anymore?
How come favourites marked on the blog itself and favourites marked on the photo of that same blog aren't added together? It is shown seperately which means you could have 9 favourites in total, instead of 4 here and 5 there, and consequently not be kicked off the front page so quickly. I don't know, it seems strange...it should all be one because it's part of a whole entry. Does that make sense?
