YAY! YAY! YAY!

Thank you for paying attention to all the whining complaining, bitching and moaning. boo ***king hoo! :)

Seriously I love it when things get streamlined. I have some suggestions I will submit about "organize" and collections --basically that I get confused how to add a book to a collection or something. I end up clicking on the wrong thing first. I will figure out what my actual suggestion/complaint is and make a Formal Submission to Feedback.

Oh and thanks for making all the themes available to groups as well!

schweet schtuff, vox!

thanks for listening to us about those icky updates last time

double thanks for doing the comment notification thing that I've been wanting forever

I will sleep a little more soundly tonight ;-)
yeah, this'll take the edge off my PMS too.

Thank you, Team Vox! I appreciate your work and these useful updates!

hooray!
"Set your privacy level on the Recent Updates!:"

Sorry, but this is still backwards. You've enabled a publisher to choose what they want to share, but not allowed the reader to choose what they want to see. PLEASE allow people to turn off the VIEWING of recent updates, or selective choose which recent updates they want to view (i.e. "favorited" updates only, and not template changes, etc). Just because someone wants to share every time they change their template doesn't mean I want to see it.

"Comment Reply Notifications are Here!"

This is a step in the right direction, but what happens when people don't respond directly to you, or respond to someone else but comment on your response? It would be nice to have a per-post option to opt-in to email notifications when comments are sent out. That way, when someone responds to a different comment and a whole discussion grows out of it, I know that something's going on, even if nobody explicitly replied to my comment in the post.

Alternately (although probably more difficult to implement) would be an RSS feed per post that included comments in the updates. That way I could subscribe to a post I'm interested in and see comments as they're posted in my feed reader. That's optimal, in my opinion.

That was pointed out to me earlier this week by another user, and I've tried it but it doesn't really suit what I (and a number of other people, from the conversations I've been having) are looking for:

- It takes 1-2 minutes to load that massive page
- I still have scroll down through a plethora of comments to find out IF there is a new comment on a post
- I have to scroll down through multiple lengthy posts and keep a close eye on when one post ends and another begins until I find the post I AM interested in and see if there's been an update. Since this isn't always the one most recently commented on, I can be scrolling quite a ways down until I get there.

If this is the only solution, I might as well just bookmark the posts I'm interested in following, and go back periodically to see if there are new comments. It'll save me a lot of time and hassle, although my bookmarks are going to fill up quickly.

It just seems weird that when you have easy, automated ways of notifying you when a comment is made on your post, and now when someone replies to your comments, that there isn't a similar easy, automated way to (optionally) see when a comment is made on someone else's post. To me, that seems like a logical extension that would come in handy when you're taking part in many post conversations at one time. But maybe that's just me.
My tag cloud is missing the majority of my tags. Is anybody else having this issue? Is this being addressed...?
my tag cloud has never really properly reflected my tags - and there are tags in my cloud that aren't even mine - click on one to dig up my posts with that tag (sometimes a nonsensical one, at that) and you'll come up empty

Useful changes are always welcome! Thank you!
I have the same problem, but it might have to do with entries (and therefore tags) that are neighbourhood- or friends-only. Just guessing.
The new navigation bar makes me want to cry. It ruins all of the layouts that weren't made with it in mind.

Thank you whom ever made that ragged dark water. It was love at first site!
[this is good]
very, very good
if fact...
totally awesome - i was going to mention something about this, but i figured you guys would get around to it - fantastic! - now i won't have to frantically remember who i replied to and keep heading back to look for replies to my replies
I thought it might be that as well, but I only have one entry that is viewable to the public and it contains only one of the tags in my tag cloud.

THANKS VOX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm really glad the tags are back on the blog posts. Thanks for listening :)
Same here. :( Not too happy about the navigation bar, I find it kind of redundant since there's another navigation bar up on top. There's one too many links to comments, too. The one on top is enough, another one at the bottom of the entry is kind of repetitive.

I'm glad the tags are back, though. :) Yay! Thanks, Vox!
Hi Lemon, I should explain the navigation bars a bit more. The navigation bar at the top of the page is your toolbar for navigating around Vox, between your Vox blog, neighborhood, groups, and all the behind the scenes pages like design and compose.

The blog navigation bar is for getting around the member's blog you're reading. To see more of their photos, posts or view their neighbors. We had them as links before, but when we tried out the navigation bar in groups it worked so well, we wanted to bring it over to the blogs as well.

I hope it makes a more sense now, we are always looking at how to make it better and feedback is always welcome.
Why are all of my neighbors on the Voxwatch page crooked and skewed off to the right and way down at the bottom of the page after a huge, wasteful white space?
Yup, it does make more sense, thanks for explaining. :) My only real quibble with it right now is that I feel it gets in the way of some designs. Like with the Team Vox page, I liked how the banner used to look like part of the rest of the page. A version that stands out less, perhaps?
If I didn't have the gradient, and followed the rules of links following the design's CSS instead of having no font style attached to it, I think we could all live a little more with it. The white gradient makes whatever color the bar is lighter, and it just doesn't look correct in relation to some layouts.

Overall, I think it's a good idea, but it needs some work in implementation. That's all. :)
Grumblebunny: If you have a screenshot, can you please send it to me at steve at sixapart dot com? Also, if you could let me know what browser/operating system/etc.. you're using that'd help. I'll try to reproduce the problem here and get it fixed.

Steve
Thanks - Be checking your email, right about NOW....

Thanks for making the changes! Is there share link necessary though?

THANK YOU x120394857 for fixing that backdating bug! :)

The reply notifications got me excited, Team VOX! :D Thanks for the awesome update as well as the new themes. They're all pretty and cool. I wonder what would be in store for us next. ;)
Yes, the comments link at the bottom bothers me too. It's totally redundant.

And Vox has yet to address the relative time stamp thing that some of us are not quite happy about. I hope that Vox will work on giving us an option between the relative time stamp thing and the normal date/time thing.

And while I'm glad that Vox has removed the taglines from the Neighbours module on our sidebar, they are now on the Neighbours page! Come on, Vox. We can see the taglines when we go to their blogs, okay?

And speaking of the Neighbours page, how about changing the order of the Neighbours in which they were updated? It would make life a little bit simpler.

Thanks for bringing back the tags though!
[this is good]
Thank you for bringing back tags :-)
The new navigation bar looks horrible on a number of layouts. You should just create a sidebar item for those navigation links and let us arrange the sidebar to suit our own blog.

Why we can not control the order of items in the sidebar...recent comments on the top or bottom, etc.

Yeah, I know I'm a little late to this but what is up with changing comment notifications in email? I used to see the whole comment now I only get a couple lines and a link.

This is very frustrating because I generally don't have access to Vox during the work day and am left wondering what the rest of the comment says.
