i.want.one.now!

hey maybe vox should have a contest and give some away eh?
and maybe one to me, since I suggested it. that'd be sweet (=
Just a thought VOX
that goes for me too! :D i just checked and they are $90...WOW
NOT good that is exactly why I seldom view blog photos anywhere. Folks just upload any out of focus, burnt photo without previewing or post processing it and they become a collection of . . . . well . . . . bad photos. This idea will not fly.
That's awesome in a way...
I like this but not enough to pay that much for a card.
it is a nice new technology can't wait to have it...
It looks pretty interesting, as well as a very unique product, but I can't cough up $90-100 for a memory card. If only I was rich. T_T

I agree for the contest!

When they make it affordable, I'll be an adopter but I have a problem being an early adopter for expensive new hardware when it's yet to be fully tested and useful. We shall see.

I've been using Eye-Fi with my digital camera, uploading photos to Flickr and Vox for a couple of months and am quite satisfied with it. This is one of the best gadgets I've got in these few years. Recent firmware updates enables uploading to computer first (if there's any in the same local network) so uploading is now even faster.
Time to buy more junk! It's time to hunker down and save - not be slaves to consumerism.

It sounds like a neat idea, I'd like to see it developed more. However, my camera only uses Compact Flash (Canon 5d) so it will be sort of useless to me anyway. I do like the idea of taking photos from my iPhone and blogging them so I would love to do that same thing with my Canon 5d if given the choice.

wow, that's quite possibly the coolest thing ever, except my camera takes a different kind of memory card. :(

and no wi-fi for me. :(

and $100 is kind of a lot :(

this would be great for when you go on vacation though. Don't have to wait till you get home to upload a billion and 3 pics to your computer.

When I recently purchased the eye-fi card (SD memory) I also purchased a Compact Flash adapter from the same company. I can use this method in my Nikon D3 Digital SLR and it works just fine. I usually have it setup to shoot both RAW format + Basic jpeg. The jpegs get uploaded only - by this card and this suits me just fine. I have tested the card in at least 3 different cameras... and have it setup for 2 wireless access points - at home and the office... and it works great. Kind of a novelty... and I don't use it all the time but it's great for VOX and Facebook snaps. It would be awesome for family or staff parties that you want to share right away.

As a follow up to my note about using Compact Flash - See:

this link for info from the Eye-Fi FAQs.
