Meet The Team: Nick
We're trying something a little different by serving up a video interview for y'all today! Bear with us as we are not professional filmmakers. Seriously, we're not.
Watch this video to learn what Nick O'Neill does for Team Vox, how he got started at Six Apart, what his favorite Vox feature is and what he does in his free time.
If you have questions or suggestions for future interviews, leave them in the comments!

Nice shirt ;)
Nick: The better to code you with!
Terrible joke...sorry.
Soooo anyhow, Hey, Nick .... uhhhh .... hi there. Ummmm.
*click*
Bought any companies lately folks? Bet that's fun ... I know some programmers, and some musicians, and some visual artists, and more than what's safe number of rabble-rousers, but when it comes to buying LJ and Rojo *checks* nope, that's kinda outta my pay scale.
How about something along the lines of "Just call us zanny but we figured we would manifest avatar-nature and benefit all sentient beings by shuffling some paper and &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp;[insert rationale here] &nsbp; &nsbp; &nsbp; *not being able to write HTML queers me out.
For the love of god use some other lighting than those horrid ones overhead that hum away all day long!!!!
Perhaps a nice large piece of white posterboard at the base below the camera so that the light bounces up and our subjects don't have deep shadows under their eyes and chins?
Nice interview, Nick. I was said you mentioned nothing about the robots though!
This is a great idea and a good first start. After watching the video, I was left wondering what you were trying to communicate. What I saw was "a guy on your staff." He had a life before Six Apart, he works for Six Apart "doing some stuff," and he does a few things on the side. Is that really what you wanted to say?
I'd much rather see something more focused. For example, get Nick to explain/express/communicate his passion for vox, how what he's doing specifically contributes to making vox great, and moves vox towards Six Apart's vision for the service. Asking Nick about his favorite feature was a step in the right direction, but it didn't let Nick talk about what he's contributing to vox.
I don't care to know what Nick does outside of work or what he did before joining the vox team. That's his own business. If you want me to know he's "human," let that come out in his excitement for his work.
You might pick up the Halo 2 Map Pack at EB Games or something. Inside is a DVD that has lots of interviews with people from Bungie. They makers were effective in accomplishing all I'm asking for here. I'm sure you could see some ways to improve if you watch it.
Keep it up. I really enjoyed the video.
