We're pretty excited about what the folks at Me.dium are up to so we wanted to share it with the Vox community.

Me.dium is a free Web browser add-on that enables users to surf the Web with their friends, discover new music and other sites, and connect with other users who share similar tastes. When we're both signed in to Me.dium, you can see which website or blog I'm reading and join me there with one click. It makes for a pretty interesting shared experience!

One of the cool ways that the people at Me.dium are using this technology is by presenting a five-day online music festival. RockMe. takes place September 18–22 and brings together five rock bands, including Rose Hill Drive, The Fiery Furnaces, Jeffrey Lewis, Gosling, and The Willowz, to meet and interact with their fans in a unique online social setting. RockMe. features live music, live tours and discussions with fans led by the artists and several guest hosts, and first-looks at unique "World-Premier" content. You can get an insider’s glimpse into the making of the RockMe. right here on Vox at the DudeOfMusic’s Behind the Scenes blog. Read the blog to get on the VIP List - and dive right in!

Sound interesting? On Wednesday at around 2pm PDT, I'm going to lead a short tour around Vox using the Me.dium technology. We'll visit all the blogs that are featured in the [this is good] box, and then we'll hop over to DudeOfMusic's Vox blog to learn more about RockMe. If you'd like to participate in this tour of Vox and preview of Me.dium and RockMe., here's what to do:

Be sure to download Me.dium
Sign up for an account on Me.dium account using this URL: http://me.dium.com/from/1a265c19b/ (You'll automatically be added as my friend).
Log in to Me.dium and "meet" me here at the Team Vox blog (just go to http://team.vox.com in your browser) at 2pm on Wednesday.

This should be a fun experiment! It will help you learn how to use Me.dium and get you prepared to check out the RockMe. event next week. I hope to see you on Wednesday.

Hrm. See, the funny thing is that http://me.dium.com/from/1a265c19b/ takes you first to the download page (at least it did for me). Since I'd already gone to the download link in step 1, I couldn't go any further and I suspect it didn't automatically add you as a friend.

W.B. Mook: Once you've downloaded it and are logged in, look in the Me.dium sidebar and click on "add" under "friends". Then just type in "krissy" in that box to add me as a friend.

Aha! Happily, though, you were on there already, so it looks like your instructions are a-okay, and I was just a little confused about how to verify that they'd worked.

Hrm. I had to do that to, as I fail in following instructions, apparently. But I added you, just under the name "saradoxical" instead.

Found me.dium through another source (Flock browser), but immediately recognized the Vox "V" and came here to see what the connection was. Not sure how to add Team Vox, but I think I will figure it out. (Whomever Krissy is - I added you, but feel free to reject me as you don't know who I am.)

The download procedure is clear, but not the registration procedure. I did not re-start Firefox immediately as I was busy reading/interacting at other sites. When I finally re-started FF, there was no way to register so therefore no way to login.

After further investigation, I retract my this is good!
