Clipmarks in your Vox

One of the things we like about the new generation of web applications is not only how they allow people to interact, share information, and build relationships -- let's call this the "social media" aspect -- but also how they are built to work together with other web apps.

We've talked about it before -- "Vox plays well with the services you already use" -- which you can see with Vox's integration with YouTube, Amazon, Flickr, and more. We're glad to see that more and more services are playing well with Vox too, including a service called Clipmarks which lets you save bits and pieces of web pages that you visit and ultimately republish those "clips" on your blog.

Clipmarks just launched their Clip-to-Blog feature with support for Vox built right in. It's this kind of app-to-app relationship that makes things better for everyone. Bloggers who may not have the time to post original material as often as they'd like now have the option to share their filtered, edited "clips" with friends, family, or the world.

Blogging takes many forms -- from the loquacious poster who can dash off 800 words of original thinking without breaking a sweat, to the moblogger who looks forward to each Vox Hunt photo prompt. And for the cut-and-pasters of the world, Clipmarks hopes to make blogging a little bit easier.

nice idea and the clipmark service looks good. 'cept I can't use it with Vox.
I get an error message
"Whoops! An error has occurred.

Clipmarks could not connect to your blog. Please review your blog settings below, and try again." when I try to blog to my Vox. I tried to configure blog settings in my Clipmark profile and get a similar error message:
"There has been an error when testing your blog configuration. Your settings have not been saved. Please review your settings and try saving again."

anyone else?

Hey there - this is Eric Skiff from clipmarks,
Mariser, sorry to hear that you're having a some trouble getting clipmarks to play nice with Vox.

Generally, the problem is that we ask for your username when we should be asking for the email you sign in to Vox with. Give that a go, and please let me know if you're still having trouble!

We're updating our blog setup page soon to ask for the right thing when you select Vox as your blog service.

Hey, Eric, the site says "coming soon" for IE7. Unfortunately, that's what I use right now. Any idea when we'll be able to get it?

Great new interoperability but .. videos 'clipped' by Clipmark are not displayed when posted to Vox. Instead you see this err. message. :-(
"This blog service does not support this video format."
It was good to add support for the most popular 'outside services' (Flickr, Youtube, etc.) But
When will more 'outside services' be added to Vox?

My top 5 outside services that I would like to see added to Vox are:
1. Vimeo.com
2. Jumpcut.com
3. Current.TV
4. Veoh.com
5. Google Videos

When can we expect to see other websites added to Voxes 'outside services'?

I am having the same problem as LonelyBob: videos 'clipped' by Clipmark are not displayed when posted to Vox. Instead you see this err. message.
"This blog service does not support this video format."

this has happened with video clips from YouTube and Google Video. Eric, any ideas or comments?

I posted some pics from a website, but haven't been able to get anything through from my gmail. On the blog it says that the picture is being processed & will be up soon. Soon was longer than 1½ hours, apparently, on my first 2 attempts with a jpg (that I gave up on and deleted). I tried again with a drawing, but got the same thing. Is it the gmail that's the problem?
