Bay Area Meetups
Team Vox is hard at work in our San Francisco offices, but we're anxious to get back on the road to talk to current and future Voxers. So between tour stops, we thought we could spend some time visiting other parts of the Bay Area.
If you live in or around the Bay Area and you want to organize a meetup with us and a big group of your friends and neighbors, let us know in the comments. If we can work it into the schedule, we'll send a few team members to your neck o' the woods to talk about Vox, help introduce it to your friends, and listen to your feedback.
(We'll bring some coveted Vox goodies with us too.)

Otherwise, any number of excellent bits of the Parks in the city would be great.
I'd be interested in anything in SF proper.
Bring on the Vox goodies!
Let me know how I can help.

Ah, but I used to work for Incyte down there off Page Mill, so the Old Pro does have a bit of a nostalgia pull for me... And the days I drag myself down to Santa Clara, it's not that far off 280.
Maybe I should retract my earlier "SF proper" comment.
the one on page mill & ECR is closing, but not quite yet... the $5 pitchers are a steal until they do.
the one on emerson downtown is now a gargantuan wherehouse style bar complete with mechanical bull.
OK, I'm turning the computer OFF, and going to the GYM.
as for the old Old Pro. to each his own. It reminds me of a run down airplane hangar, but it still has its own charm. The same with another Palo Alto favorite, Antonio's Nuthouse.
some other good places in the South Bay are the Tied House and Gordon Biersch...but I would think that the new remodeled Old Pro is the most appealing because of its newness and nice atmosphere...although it can get a bit loud on weekend nights. i was there on friday night and there was a line just to get in at midnight.
*laughs*
Yes. Go Bulls!
will it be run like Alton Brown's "Feasting on Asphalt?"
if so, watch out for loose gravel.
(1) something that's located in the City is probably going to average out being the shortest trip for the most people, which we should probably consider.
(2) Since we'll be drinking, something BART-able might be a smart choice.
If everyone really wants to go to the New Pro, then let's go there, but..... is there a BART-able City bar that would serve? The Irish Bank comes to mind (Union Square area) as does Zuni (Mission), but I'm sure there are many other and better ideas.
I think that excludes a City bar, Mark...
New Pro, New Pro, New Pro, New Pro, New Pro, New Pro, New Pro!!!
disclosure: i have no $ interest in any Pro, i just work 2 blocks away ;)
we'll see. i think we'll end up having several meet-ups just because there are so many Voxers here in the Bay Area. The new Old Pro seems to be the pick for those of us here in the South Bay/Peninsula...not sure where we'd meet in SF. Not too familiar with bars that will be suitable for such a meet-up.
Victor, you got my social software inside joke, heh...
The more parties the better!
(Typo up there. Meant to say "area"--not "are".)
What? You mean Sacramento *isn't* in the bay area?

I won't be back in the Bay Area until Stanford reunion in October. I miss it! :(
My vote is for San Ramon or Brentwood area.
try any of the multistory lots:

Please come to Spokane, WA. I want to get Vox goodies. My new laptop needs a vox sicker.
Heck, I would even help set up one in Seattle too.
Now back to the question at hand:
I vote for in the city (San Francisco) then anything I can get to from the city within hour via BART. If I can work business around, I will fly down to attend.
Bay Area BARTable is good (and I favor Oakland or Berkeley), though let me pitch for something held in Marin, also. In fact, I could give you the name of a guy who has an organized group who might be willing to promote it via his group if Vox were to organize, say, a wine and cheese thing at a rented room in a restaurant or hotel.
