The [this is good] section should be on the Home page. PERIOD. Everyone that I have talked to hates it where it is now. Move it back.
I agree with Jessica; it doesn't make any sense for it not to be on the main page -- if it's so good, shouldn't it be on the home page? :P
We appreciate your feedback. But please respect that the people who work on Vox are, well, people. There is a nice way to express things than "move it back."

I understand you are people. I have sent in tons and tons of feedback about a lot of things but mostly about the [this is good] section. I was trying to be rude by saying move it back. How is that rude? Let me try this...move it back please?!

Yeah, actually the please helps a lot.
Yeah, I don't think she meant to be rude -- and neither did I. Just putting that out there.

Hey - at least it's on the logged out homepage! 50% of the way there!

Well, I don't know why I send in feedback. I don't know why I said please. It won't be done. I guess I will just have to give it up.
[this is good]
The new Logged out Page looks FANTASTIC. Well done Team Vox.
Jessica, and everyone else - Don't give up on sending us feedback. We read it. I promise. We don't always have time to respond to everything that comes in, and while we want you guys to be happy with the site, we obviously can't implement everything everyone asks us for. Keep in mind that for every "I hate this" piece of feedback we get, there's a good chance there's an "I like it better this way" piece as well.

Do us a favor, please... give this new control strip a try. Get used to working with it before you make up your mind about it. Maybe try it out for a day, and then spend a day with it turned off. The key to good beta testing is providing feedback that not only says what you do and don't like, but also why you feel that way. Believe me, we're happy to get a bunch of feedback mails that say "I don't like this new thingy..." as long as they go on to say "..because it smells bad and it zigs when I expect it to zag." Know what I'm saying?

One more thing... When you evaluate new stuff on the site, ask yourself if you don't like it because you really don't like it, or because you've gotten used to the old way. Keep in mind that Vox gets better when we get more people to join. One of the ways we get more people to join is to make it welcoming to the newcomers. I'm not saying we'll forsake all of you, our longtime homies, for all these new folks. We'll find balance. We'll work on ways to implement stuff that gets those new people interested but also works for the old-timers. To do that, we need your constructive feedback.

Thanks for being here, checking out new stuff, and letting us know what you think.

I've stopped sending in feedback. I probably won't send in feedback. I'm tired of sending it in. I might even give up Vox all together. Who knows. I am used to the old control strip so that could be why I don't like the new one and that I don't want to give it a try. But, that's me. I'm not going to give it a try. When yall put the [this is good] section on the Explore page instead of keeping it on the Home page, I didn't like it because I wasn't use to it. Now I don't like it because I just don't like it. I never will. I don't go to the Explore page. I didn't even go to it when [this is good] was on the Home page. Now that it is on the Explore page I forget all about it. So, I don't check what's new about [this is good]. I don't like it now and I never will. Sorry. That is just my opinion and the opinion of a few other people I know.

i've already tried this kind of control strip on flickr and i don't like it much there, in fact i hardly use the dropdown ajax menus there.... why all the redundancy? I don't get it. And isn't it the case, that we're discussing it here, rather than pressuring you in conforming to our views? It's the discussion that makes for the reciprocity in the network. Cutting that off, thinking it is just "user feedback" introduces an asymmetry that is a dangerous thing, networked-community wise.... 0.02 euros....
Have you considered adding [this is good] to your neighborhood? I don't visit the Explore page as well and find this a viable solution for keeping up with "what is good". This solution only works if you are good about keeping up with your neighborhood.

Feedback is important to the success of Vox as a community tool. If enough people do not like a certain feature or location of an item, then there is a possibility that Team Vox will bend to the will of the community. But if only one person complains, they will think that the community as a whole is happy and only one person doesn't like it. With an application with a user base this large, you can't make everyone happy, but you want to make sure the majority remains happy.

Lastly, to reiterate Steve's point (and the anonymous Team Vox poster), write your feedback discussing what annoys you, why it annoys you, and what you think would improve/remove the annoyance. Writing with a clear head also helps your cause. Suggested reading: Time to Say "Please"!
I'm not going to worry about it anymore. Vox has been pretty boring lately. I haven't really been in the mood to write. I'm probably about to delete my Vox anyways. So, just forget I even said anything about this.
[this is good]
I really like the logged-out homepage -- I didn't know that was coming, and it makes it a lot easier to explain to people who have no idea what Vox is. I appreciate that the team is thinking of stuff I didn't even know I wanted! :)
